Handmade by resourceful artisans in the village of Ban Naphia, Xiangkhoang Province, Laos, they are cast from safely cleared unexploded ordnance (UXO) and scrap metal left over from the Indochina War.
Working alongside the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) to ensure safe collection, villagers melt the metal over open fires and pour it into traditional sand molds to create these elegant pieces.
By wearing this piece, you are supporting the transformation of conflict remnants into symbols of hope, while sustaining the traditional crafts of the region.
