Rainbow Connection Basket, Ghana

In Ghana's northern Bolgatanga region, talented basket weavers know exactly what to do to transform a stiff stalk of grass grown in the south into gorgeous baskets loved around the world. To create these brilliant rainbow baskets, artisans dye the strands in an array of colors before weaving.

Please note, Bolga baskets are typically crafted with soft goatskin fully binding the handles. Without leather binding, handles are not as strong.
