These papier-mâché boxes are expertly crafted using traditional Indian techniques with intricately hand painted detail. Artisans soak recycled newspaper until it disintegrates, then mix it with cloth, rice or straw to form the pulp used to mold unique box designs. Intricately hand painted detail and bold color combinations are a rich expression of age-old Indian design motifs. Sustainable, eco friendly design honors the spirit of resourcefulness found within our artisan communities.
