The tradition of soapstone carving goes back generations in Western Kenya. Hand-carved and painted in the village of Tabaka, these whimsical soapstone products are made by an artisan collective-NGO dedicated to improving the lives of craftspeople in their region.

Soapstone is an easily carved soft mineral that is super smooth to the touch. It comes in a range of natural shades from pure white to soft pinks and greys, but can also be painted in a range of other colours.

Available in several motifs, sold singly.
